I remember what it was like when I first wanted to get into radio.

I remember believing that the people who could make those decisions had piles and piles of demos stacked in their office (and many thrown out of car windows!), and if you were LUCKY, you might make it one day to the "maybe" pile.

Maybe.

I remember the frustration as questions flew round my head such as...

"Where do I start"?

"What do I put on there"

"How much chat, how much music"

"Should I try and be funny"

I realised that not only was this a problem, with much potential talent getting squashed before it even had a chance to bloom, but also that many folks did not have the luxery of getting to or hiring a studio, or for that matter even knowing where to begin.

*How much music to put in, and how to edit cleverly - master a technique called "Topping and Tailing", that will make you sound as slick as a brand new car.

*How much information to put in (like weather and travel), and how exactly to make it relavant to the audience you will be entertaining.

*How to project your own personality and not make it sound like a "demo" if that makes sense.

*What software and hardware you need to make it sound good, and where to get it cheap, if not free.

*How often to follow up with them as well, and how to maximise your chances of getting the gig.

Matter of fact, I do. I intend this to be a 5 day course, approx one hour a day. For the duration of the course, you will have e-mail access to me directly, so I can coach you as we go along. There will be a forum where we meet as well and discuss your progress.
